Hello from The Praxis,
Welcome. We are very glad you are here.
You are joining The Praxis at the very beginning of its life. That means the courses are ready, the ideas are in place, and the framework for the community is built—but the community itself is still just a shoot, beginning the process of growing.
For a little while, the discussions and forums may feel somewhat quiet or underpopulated. That is normal for a new organization. Communities grow gradually as members begin to explore the material, share insights, and interact with one another.
The most meaningful communities are not created by software—they are created by the habits of their members. If you would like to help this become a thoughtful and useful place, here are a few practices that make forums successful.
Habits that make a community thrive
• Introduce yourself. A brief introduction helps others know who is participating in the conversation.
• Share observations, not just conclusions. What are you noticing in the material or in your own experience? Often the question is as valuable as the answer.
• Respond generously. If someone posts an idea or question, acknowledge it. Even a short response helps conversations grow.
• Build on what others say. Good communities develop through thoughtful extension of one another’s insights rather than isolated posts.
• Be patient with growth. Early conversations may be small. Over time, those small conversations become the foundation of a meaningful network of people thinking together.
Our goal is not simply to deliver information, but to cultivate shared reflection about how human beings actually grow and change.
Thank you for helping shape the culture of this community from the beginning.
